Freyja is a neighborhood salon located in the heart of Ravenswood on the Northside of Chicago. Opened by Sarah Thompson in 2014, Freyja was brought into being by her passion for creating amazing, client-focused haircuts and color that maintain the natural beauty and health of the hair while using the latest techniques, processes and products.
Freyja is named after the Norse goddess of love and beauty who is fabled to own within her the strength of many warriors. A wise figure depicted in textures of furs, feathers, and metals upon lavished layers of drapery, Freyja’s soft femininity is met with her recognized force. Her chariot is pulled by a pair of mythical tabby cats, a symbol of her social and playful nature that is adored by all.
At Freyja, we strive to create a comfortable and sophisticated environment that celebrates community and encourages clientele to embrace their inner Freyja. We believe in strong, confident beauty that utilizes the most up-to-date techniques while honoring softness, femininity, and all things natural.
